| AVALANCHE RANCH VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Desert Streams Lutheran Church in Surprise is offering “Avalanche Ranch Vacation Bible School” from July 21 – 25 at 9:00 a.m. – 12 noon. It is a free program for boys and girls entering grades K – 7th conducted by a dedicated Christian who has received specialized training. Activities include singing songs, learning Bible verses, hearing Gospel lessons, playing games, making crafts, eating snacks, earning prizes, and more. | The Power Ranch holiday lighting display is available for public viewing from Nov. 17 through Jan. 7. The community is located in Gilbert. All three of Power Ranch’s signature 30-foot-tall windmills, Ranch House Clubhouse and Barn Clubhouse will be adorned with thousands of sparkling lights while other monuments and trees within the community will also be illuminated for the season. The holiday lights will be viewable starting at three of the community’s entrances--on Queen Creek Road at Ranch House Parkway between Power and Higley roads; on Pecos Road and Ranch House Parkway, also between Power and Higley roads; and on Haven Crest and Power Road. To reach Power Ranch, take either the U.S. 60 or the Santan Loop 202 east to the Power Road exit and head south. Turn right at Queen Creek Road.
